What is a Product Group MOQ?

A Product Group MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) applies to all variants within all options of a product group. When you set a Product Group MOQ, it means you must order at least that quantity across all variants of the product combined.

How to set a Product Group MOQ

  1. Go to the Product Configuration Page by clicking on "Configure" > "Products" in the left sidebar

  2. Find the parent product (the main product group) you want to set MOQ for

  3. Click directly in the MOQ column for the parent product (not for individual variants)

  4. Enter your desired MOQ value

  5. The change will save automatically

Example of Product Group MOQ

If you have a t-shirt product with multiple colors and sizes:

  • T-shirt product (parent)

    • Red (option)

      • Small (variant)

      • Medium (variant)

      • Large (variant)

    • Blue (option)

      • Small (variant)

      • Medium (variant)

      • Large (variant)

Setting a Product Group MOQ of 24 means you must order at least 24 t-shirts in total, regardless of how they're distributed across colors and sizes.

When to use Product Group MOQ

Product Group MOQ is ideal when:

  • Your supplier requires a minimum total quantity across all variations

  • You want to simplify order management for products with many variants

  • The product variants are manufactured or shipped together

How Product Group MOQ affects purchase orders

When you create purchase orders with a Product Group MOQ:

  • It will warn you the total quantity across all variants meets the minimum

  • If the calculated need is below the MOQ, you can add the reqiured units to PO.
