Currently, Fabrikatör does not have a specific feature for setting a safety stock independently from days of stock. The system is designed for proactive replenishment to prevent stockouts based on your configured settings.
Understanding Days of Stock vs. Safety Stock
While there isn't a dedicated safety stock setting, the Days of Stock parameter in Fabrikatör functions similarly by helping you maintain a buffer of inventory:
Days of Stock: Defines how many days of inventory you want to maintain, which helps prevent stockouts during normal operations and serves as a buffer against unexpected demand or supply delays.
Working with Safety Stock in Fabrikatör
If you need to implement safety stock in your inventory management:
Manual Adjustment Method
When creating a purchase order, you can manually add your desired safety stock quantity to the suggested restock amount:
Navigate to the Replenish Page
Review the suggested restock quantity
Create PO from Replenish Page
Manually increase the quantity to include your safety stock buffer
Complete your purchase order with the adjusted quantities
Using Days of Stock for Safety
You can also adjust your Days of Stock settings to include a safety margin:
Determine your typical lead time and regular inventory needs
Add additional days to account for your desired safety stock level
Configure your Days of Stock setting with this higher value
