If you've noticed differences in the performance badges (Fantastic, Moderate, Poor, Idle) displayed across different sections of Fabrikatör, you're not seeing an error. This is by design and reflects different analytical dimensions being used.

How ABC Analysis Badges Differ By Screen

On Reports

  • ABC analysis is based on product groups by default

  • A product group can be classified as Fantastic (A-class) even if it contains some idle variants

  • The classification considers the aggregate performance of all variants within the product group

On Replenish and PO Screens

  • ABC analysis is displayed at the variant level

  • Each individual variant has its own performance classification

  • You might see different badges for variants within the same product group

Example Scenario

Imagine a product group "Summer T-shirt" with three variants:

  • "Summer T-shirt - Small (Blue)" - High sales, contributes significantly to revenue

  • "Summer T-shirt - Medium (Blue)" - Moderate sales

  • "Summer T-shirt - Large (Blue)" - No sales in the analysis period

On Reports (by default):

  • The entire "Summer T-shirt" product group might be classified as Fantastic (A) because the combined sales of all variants place it in the top 80% of revenue

On Replenish or PO screens:

  • "Summer T-shirt - Small (Blue)" might show as Fantastic (A)

  • "Summer T-shirt - Medium (Blue)" might show as Moderate (B)

  • "Summer T-shirt - Large (Blue)" would show as Idle

Changing the Dimension on Reports

You can switch between viewing performance by product group or by variant in the Reports section:

  1. Navigate to the Reports section

  2. Look for the "Dimension" dropdown or filter

  3. Change from the "Product Group" to "Variant"

  4. Click on the "Columns" or "Customize" button

  5. Look for "Variant Sales Performance" in the available columns list

  6. Your report will refresh to show variant-level ABC classifications

This flexibility allows you to analyze your inventory performance from different perspectives based on your current needs.

Which View Should I Use?

Both views provide valuable insights for different purposes:

Product Group View (Reports default)

  • Helpful for strategic decision-making

  • Provides a broader picture of product line performance

  • Useful for category-level analysis and merchandising decisions

Variant View (Replenish and PO screens)

  • Essential for tactical inventory management

  • Provides granular insights for reordering decisions

  • Helps identify specific variants that may need attention despite being part of a successful product group
