Fabrikatör takes Shopify as the source of truth for inventory and syncs products from Shopify in real-time. While this has great advantages for keeping the records consistent, it has some shortcomings as well. One of these shortcomings becomes apparent when ordering new products that don't exist on Shopify yet.
Ordering new products
Since Shopify is the source of truth for your inventory, we highly recommend creating products on Shopify first. This will not only keep your inventory records consistent but also serves as a blueprint of what products will be available to sell next.
Create a placeholder product on Shopify and remove it from sales channels.
In this way, the product will be available in your purchase orders but it won't be visible to your customers.
