Restock Frequency is a critical setting in Fabrikatör's Supply Plan that determines how often you'll place purchase orders to replenish your inventory. This setting helps optimize your inventory management by establishing a consistent ordering schedule.

Understanding Restock Frequency

Restock Frequency defines the time intervals at which Fabrikatör will recommend placing purchase orders with your suppliers. This setting helps you:

  • Maintain a consistent ordering schedule

  • Optimize shipping costs by consolidating orders

  • Balance inventory levels to avoid stockouts and overstocking

  • Streamline your cash flow management

How to Set Restock Frequency

You'll set your preferred Restock Frequency when creating or updating your Supply Plan:

  1. Navigate to your Demand Plan

  2. Click the "Show Supply Plan" button

  3. In the modal that appears, select your desired Restock Frequency

  4. Click "Show Supply Plan" to generate your recommendations

Available Restock Frequency Options

Fabrikatör offers several preset options as well as custom settings to match your business needs:

Preset Options:

  • Monthly: Orders will be placed once per month

  • Every 3 Months: Orders will be placed quarterly

  • Every 6 Months: Orders will be placed twice a year

Custom Option:

  • Custom Number: Enter any number of days between restocks to create a custom frequency

How Restock Frequency Works

When you set a Restock Frequency, Fabrikatör uses this information to calculate when purchase orders should be placed:

Example Scenario:

If you set a Restock Frequency of "Every 3 Months" in January for a 12-month demand plan:

  1. Fabrikatör will analyze your inventory needs across the entire 12-month period

  2. Purchase orders will be grouped and scheduled at 3-month intervals (January, April, July, October)

  3. Each recommended PO will include all products needed from that supplier for the upcoming 3-month period

  4. Products with different lead times will be factored in, ensuring orders are placed early enough to prevent stockouts
